Groundbreaking for New Medical Facility
July 21st, 2011
On Monday, July 18th, Blackstone Valley Community Health Center celebrated the official groundbreaking of their new $6.7 million medical complex located at 33 East Avenue in Pawtucket. United States Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse and Congressman David Cicilline joined state and local dignitaries, BVCHC officials and staff to share their thoughts on such a momentous occasion.

Governor Elizabeth Roberts, BVCHC’s Executive Director Raymond Lavoie, BVCHC’s Medical Director Dr. Jerald Fingerut, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, Congressman David Cicilline, Rhode Island Health Center Association President Jane Hayward, and Women’s Care CEO Dr. Pablo Rodriguez.
The 32,000 square-foot building, to be located adjacent to BVCHC’s dental facility at 210 Main Street, is scheduled to open in September 2012. The new medical complex will create a medical home for patients, expanding services now offered in Pawtucket into a single medical campus where a diagnostic laboratory, pharmacy, dental, behavioral health, and general medicine will be available to patients under one roof.
